Today is The North Brookfield Small Town Pride Celebration. However, approval for the show was only granted recently by the Towns Select Board after initially being denied due to its inclusion of a Drag Show. The organizers of the event were then forced to contact the ACLU to fight for permission to have the festival. The confrontation was featured heavily in the news. WGBH, our local PBS station even wrote an article about it.
